Eastern Sierra Land Trust's Recent Successes

May 2007

Greetings!

We have some good news to report!

We have had great success in our recent membership drive--to date we have had an increase of over 100% since earlier in the year, now totaling nearly 700 members! It is inspiring to know so many people support the work we do here at the ESLT.

We received several personal notes from people describing happy memories from the Eastern Sierra, either recently or earlier in their lives. With an augmented foundation of support to base our work on, from both local and out-of-area supporters and visitors, funding for future projects should be easier to obtain.

We are making progress with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in securing permanent protection for 60,000 acres of open space in Mono County. In addition, we are currently working with several landowners in the Wheeler Ridge deer migration corridor to secure safe passage for this 3000 head herd.

Thanks for making this all possible! For more information about our projects, please check out our Home Page.

Sincerely,
