Mammoth Mountain donated the funds to support the work the ESLT is accomplishing to protect farms and ranches, plants and animals, rural culture and scenic vistas in Inyo, Mono, and Alpine counties. “We support the Eastern Sierra Land Trust because they are accomplishing goals that meet our core values of enhancement, conservation and preservation of our ecosystem,” explained Rusty Gregory, CEO of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. “In doing so, we can increase our effectiveness in ensuring these values are upheld; for the beauty of the Eastern Sierra is an integral part of the visitor experience at Mammoth Mountain.” The Eastern Sierra Land Trust, established in January, 2001, works with private land owners and the public to preserve rural landscapes. To date, the ESLT has established voluntary land protection agreements on just under 1,000 acres in the Eastern Sierra that includes protection for plants and animals, farmland, and scenic views. “Mammoth Mountain is known for upholding a strong ethic of being good stewards to our lands,” said Julie Bear, ESLT Executive Director. “Their generous donation shows an endorsement of our activities and accomplishments and we hope to continue to earn their trust and support.” For more information about the Eastern Sierra Land Trust please contact us at (760) 873-4554.
