November 28, 2006 — Partnering to Protect Critical Deer Habitat
The Eastern Sierra Land Trust, a local nonprofit, has received a grant from the California Deer Association to protect critical winter range and migration corridor habitat of the Round Valley deer herd along Wheeler Ridge, in the community of Swall Meadows. Press Release
September 29, 2006 - Funding Awarded for Benton Hot Springs Valley Land Protection
BISHOP, CA — The Eastern Sierra Land Trust has received a Proposition 50 Sierra Nevada-Cascade Conservation Grant for the permanent protection of approximately 900 acres at Benton Hot Springs Valley. The grant award of $2,246,000 was based on benefits to the region such as ranching, water quality and wildlife habitat. Press Release

2006 — Scenic Wildlife Land Preserved on Highway 395 Near Bridgeport
The Eastern Sierra Land Trust announced today the completion
of a permanent land preservation agreement on 75 acres of land at Big
Hot Springs Ranch just east of Highway 395 in Bridgeport. A conservation easement, was donated by the ranch owners,
Ulrich Schmid-Maybach, Glen Poulsen, and Andreas Rickenbach, that will permanently
preserve the Highway’s scenic beauty. Press

2006 — Mammoth Mountain Donates to Eastern Sierra Land Trust
On February 15, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area presented
a donation of $10,000 to the Eastern Sierra Land Trust (ESLT), a non profit,
501(c)3 organization based in Bishop, California. Mammoth Mountain donated
the funds to support the work the ESLT is accomplishing to protect farms
and ranches, plants and animals, rural culture and scenic vistas in Inyo,
Mono, and Alpine counties. Press

29, 2005 - Historic Ranch and Water Rights Preserved for Agriculture in Benton Valley
The Eastern Sierra Land Trust, in partnership with
the California Department of Conservation’s Farmland Conservancy
Program (CFCP), and the Farm and Ranchland Protection Program (FRPP) of
the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service announced today the
completion of a land protection agreement on the 818-acre Montgomery Creek
Ranch in Benton Valley. Press
